A young cyclist from Check-e Kawoosa area of Narbal in Budgam district has won two gold and a bronze medal at 22th National Cycling Championship held in Karnataka.
Bilal Ahmad Dar bagged two golds in under-18 and under-16 categories in 80 and 20-kilometre cycling events respectively in which 17 youth from Kashmir participated.
He also won a bronze medal in Time Trial category for 10 kilometers by finishing in 13 minutes and 25 seconds Dar said: “This is the beginning. I had earlier been disqualified from the same event due to technical reasons despite finishing first. But this time I knew that I would lead the event.”
Dar has been undergoing training at Sports Authority of India in Delhi during past one year.
