AIFF asks Kashmir based clubs to play at Delhi
After two postponements, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has asked two Kashmir based I-League clubs -Real Kashmir FC and Kashmir FC -to play all scheduled matches of the second division, I-League at New-Delhi instead of Kashmir.
Kashmir FC was scheduled to clash with Real Kashmir in the first of the two local derby matches on Monday. However, due to strike call given by Separatists, the clash was postponed. It was second postponement of the scheduled match as earlier same match was not played due to bad weather.
Though both Kashmir based I-League clubs have requested AIFF to reschedule the fixture, the latter has proposed to play all remaining matches of the league at n Delhi. Both teams have finished its fixtures and were supposed to play all the remaining matches of the group on their home turf in Srinagar.
In any professional league, matches are scheduled in a way to balance the competition by playing home and away matches. I-league also follows that schedule. In that respect the remaining matches of the Group-A are important for the Kashmir based clubs as they are scheduled to play on their home turf in front of their own fans.
