Jammu, May 4: One person was killed today when lightning stuck him in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Mohammad Ibrahim was passing by a forest area in Narisingha belt in the district when lightning struck, official sources said.
He was seriously injured in the incident and died on his way to the hospital, they said.
Meanwhile, two persons were killed and eight others injured today when the vehicle in which they were travelling fell into a gorge on Jammu-Srinagar highway in the district.
Two persons died on the spot while eight others were injured, a police official said.
A tempo-traveller, on its way to Jammu, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge around 3:20 pm at Nachilana area of Ramban district, he said.
A rescue operation was launched and the injured were shifted to a hospital, the official said.
