Srinagar, Education Minister Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday inaugurated the Ranji probable trial match conducted by Sports Committee of PHD Chamber Kashmir at Sheri-Kashmir cricket stadium Sonwar here.
The match was played to select the state team of 14-players for upcoming PHD Chamber CM-XI tournament at national level. The tournament will be played between northern states and matches would be on IPL format.
Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said, “We are delighted to see the encouraging initiative of PHD Chamber for the youth of Kashmir and our best wishes and full support would be with the selected players of state team for CM-XI.”
Bukhari said Jammu & Kashmir is full of talent and with these initiatives the talented youths are getting an opportunity to prove their mettle.
“The upcoming tournament under the aegis of PHD Chamber will be a great promotion of cricket and celebration of our shared passion for the beautiful game. Selection trials for women cricket team of Kashmir will also be held soon,” said chairman of PHD Chamber Kashmir Tariq Rashid Ghani.
