ARMY AND AWAAM MEET HELD AT AWANTIPURAKG News Desk

Awantipura, April 28: The Army today hosted a harmony and confidence building meet at Awantipura where Army personnel and people of Awantipora and adjoining areas interacted with one another in a very congenial atmosphere.

A large No of eminent citizens of Awantipur town and the neighbouring villages attended the meeting. These included Chairman of Market Association, Numberdars, Sarpanches and Panches of villages around Awantipur and President of Sumo Association of the town.

In his interaction the Victor Force commander Major General Askok Narula, who has recently assumed the charge, emphasized on the need of maintaining cordial relations which could dispel rumours and misinformation being spread by some rogue elements these days. He said that Army and Awaam have been working hand in hand and must continue to work together to bring peace and development in the area. He exhorted the responsible citizens of the society to guide their children and educate them well so that they could earn a decent living and contribute to the society. He also stressed on the need of imparting skills to the youth so that they could start their own work. He asked the locals to make full use of Victorpora Stadium and reassured all that the Army would continue to contribute to their wellbeing through Sadbhavana initiatives.

He further expressed his confidence that the Awaam and the entire government apparatus of which Army is an integral part, will together progress towards peace, prosperity and harmony. The locals expressed their happiness on being invited and voiced the collective sentiments of populace to work closely with the Army.
