Ganderbal, Apr 25: Fulfilling the long standing demand of people from Sindhbal area, the Army camp at Ganderbal today organised a medical camp, an army spokesman in a statement issued here said.
Several Army doctors along with doctors from civil hospital (including a lady doctor) provided much needed medical care and created awareness about health issues, he said.
“Special arrangements were made for lady patients. Along with checkups and consultation, free medicines were also distributed to the patients. Over 800 persons benefited from the camp. The joint effort by the Army and civil administration in reaching out to the poor and needy was appreciated by the local populace”, he said.
Taking note of the health issues amongst the young children in the camp, Army has decided to reach out to the young children by providing free medical checkups and medicines to students studying in far flung schools which lack basic medical facilities, he added.
