Sopore, April 23: In its ongoing endeavour to introduce the children of Valley to the vast canvas of opportunities in various fields, Watlab Garrison today organized an online career counseling session at the Army Goodwill Schools in Sopore and Bandipora, an army spokesperson in a statement issued here said.
More than 100 students including students from other local schools participated in the counselling session which dwelt on photography as a hobby and as a profession, the spokesperson said.
The session was conducted by Mr Nachiket Guttikar, a graduate in Physics & Photography from Ferguson College, Pune. He also holds a degree in MFA photography, video and related media from School of Visual Arts. He is presently pursuing Phd from a leading USA university, the spokesperson said.
The noted photographer was also involved in a documentary project with the NGO ‘Aseem’ in Kashmir in 2014. The counseling included a Question and answer session, which aptly evinced the interest of keen, inquisitive, creative young minds, the spokesperson said.
Introducing students at the right age & time to various career options by such endeavours helps them in securing a sound future as per their aptitude and skill sets, the spokesperson said.
The Army, in this initiative, has reaffirmed its commitment towards providing the youth of Kashmir with all possible assistance for their brighter futures, the spokesperson added.
