BSF man shoots wife, held in Central Kashmi

Srinagar, April 25: A Border Security Force (BSF) man on Monday allegedly shot dead his wife after a scuffle broke out between the couple in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.

A police official said that the BSF man identified as Ghulam Hassan Chauhan, 40, who is a constable in 193 Battalion of BSF, shot his wife following a scuffle allegedly over her extra-marital affair at their house in Satrina village of the district.

The woman was shot by 12-bore rifle and died instantly, the official said, adding that the accused has been arrested by police and is being interrogated. The official said the Chowhan, posted in Rajasthan, had recently got home on holidays.

He said the autopsy of the body has been conducted and investigations have been taken up after registering a case under FIR No.31\2016 under section 302 RPC.
