Srinagar, April 11 (GNS): Punjab police has constituted a special police team to investigate into the murder of Kashmiri businessman in the state last week, a top police officer said on Monday. The cops have so far rounded up five persons in connection the murder.
The body of businessman, Maqsood Shah (27) son of Mohammad Dilawer, a native of Kupwara district was found in the Shahkot on Saturday, four days after he went missing.
“Soon after recovering the body we filed an FIR 48/2016 u/s 302, 201 IPC “, SSP Rural Harmohan Singh in whose jurisdiction Shahkot area falls, told GNS over phone.
Subsequently, a special police team headed by DSP Shahkot has been constituted to probe the incident and ascertain the facts behind the murder, SSP said.
When Contacted Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shahkot Mandeep Singh said that so far we have picked up five suspected persons including deceased’s colleague from Kashmir. He said that we are also ascertaining the call detail record.
Hopeful, the case will be cracked in coming days and strict action will be taken against those involved in the murder case. (GNS)
