Cong delegation arriving today


JAMMU, A high level Congress Policy and Planning Group of J&K affairs headed by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh is arriving here tomorrow, to meet different sections of society during two-days’ visit here.
The Group comprised of senior Congress leader Dr Karan Singh, former Home Minister P. Chidambaram, Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, AICC general secretary Ambika Soni besides representatives of party from Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh in the group.
The Cong delegation would straightway go to Govt Guest House, Canal Road and will interact with the senior party leaders in the executive meeting at 12 noon onwards.
In the post lunch, the group will meet different delegations of the civil society from different sections and walks of life. Other than the party executive, the Group will have meeting with civil society and main stream opposition parties.
They include delegations of Bar Association, Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Pahari people, delegation of Dogri Sanstha Jammu, Ex-Servicemen, delegations of SCs, STs & OBCs, Minorities, delegation of women, mainstream opposition parties, delegation of displaced persons of 1947,65 & 71, Kashmiri migrants, Kisan & border residents, erstwhile Doda migrants and the delegation of Intellectuals Group.
The delegation will stay at the Guest House Jammu and next day morning fly back to Delhi. Next week the same Group shall visit Kashmir to have similar exercise of interaction, the party spokesman said.
