Pulwama, May 30 (GNS): The District Hospital Pulwama is without CT scan machine and canteen which is causing massive inconvenience to patients and attendants.
Locals said the hospital which is thronged by hundreds everyday is without any CT scan machine and the patients have to approach private clinics that charge high amounts. They said that not only this the hospital has also no canteen facility and the attendants of the patients face severe difficulties. Besides, the locals said, the hospital’s premises have not been fenced.
A doctor at the hospital said that in absence of CT scan facility they have to make referrals to Srinagar hospitals. “We are being accused of rampant referrals but when we don’t have facilities then we are compelled to make referrals. The government should install CT machine so that we can also treat patients here,” he said.
Member of Legislative Assembly, Mohammad Khalil Bandh said that he has taken up the matter of CT scan in a recent board meeting and expressed hope that the matter would be sorted out soon. Pertinently, the Health Minister Bali Bhat said in Legislative Council last week that a CT scan machine would be installed at Pulwama Hospital. (GNS)
