Srinagar, Apr 5: In a rare case of its kind in valley, a pet dog was on Tuesday abducted from Gulab Bagh locality of central-Kashmir’s Srinagar district.IMG_20160405_011547

The owner of the dog Zarak Muzzafar said that two maruti-borne youths dognapped his pet ‘Rango’ which he had bought from the ‘Pet World’ Parraypora at a whooping price of 45000 INR.

‘Rango’ belongs to a special breed of dogs called Saint Bernard (St. Bernard) mainly found in Switzerland, he said while adding that it is originally bred for rescue. The breed of dogs is known for its lively, watchful, gentle, friendly and calm nature.

The administration should look out for the abductors to retrieve the pet, the owner said.

Pertinent to mention here that dognapping is the crime of taking a dog from its owner with the intention of demanding a ransom.
