Employees hold unity meet; Congratulate new dispensation, hope redressal of pending issues

JKcnguSrinagar, April 8 (GNS): In a bid to achieve unity to get their grievances redressed, various employees unions led by their respective presidents on Friday held a joint meeting under the chairmanship of JKCSNGEU President in Jammu.
They congratulated new dispensation led by Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and expressed optimism that long pending issues will be resolved very soon.
During the meeting the union presidents pledged to fight jointly against the ‘indifference’ shown by successive regimes vis-à-vis their ‘genuine’ demands.
Jammu Kashmir Civil Secretariat Non-Gazzetted Employees Union President Ghulam Rasool Mir while talking to news agency GNS said that, the Vohra-led government for last two months in the state failed to fulfil their genuine demands.
“We even had made several representations to the governor, but time and again our demands were not paid any heed. This meeting will serve a landmark to help the employees to achieve a unified platform to struggle for the demands,” he added.
If the genuine demands aren’t fulfilled on a fast-track basis, he said employees will be left with no other option than to resort to agitations.
The members of the employees unions which participated in the meeting included EJAC (Q) led by Abdul Qayoom Wani, EJAC Kashmir led by Aijaz Ahmad Khan, EJAC (R) led by Baabu Hussain Malik, Coordination of Trade Unions president Mohammad Maqbool Ganaie, EJAC Jammu led Sushil Sudan and J&K Lower Grade President Maqbool Hussain.
Meanwhile, the respective presidents have proposed another meeting, due to be held in next week. (GNS)
