Er Rasheed protests against establishment of new army camp in Jablipora


Srinagar, Independent lawmaker and MLA Langate Er Rasheed on Saturday held a protest demonstration in press enclave Srinagar against establishing an army camp in Jablipora village of south Kashmir’s Bijbhera.People from various localities gathered and joined the protest, besides dozens of AIP volunteers, He said that on one side Government is claiming to minimize the role of Army in dealing with law and order issues but on the other side new camps are being established and that too without following proper procedures.

He said that though our battle is for resolution of Kashmir dispute security agencies cannot be allowed to do whatever they want.

Sources said a company of army’s 2RR occupied the playground in Jablipora village.

The protesters said that they feared the presence of the army camp might bring trouble to them.

“If the Playground is not vacated by army we will come out on roads,” the protesters threatened.

The protesters holding banners displaying slogans like “Is it Militarization or Demilitarization?”, “Don’t Make south Kashmir A garrison”, “Who is ruling? Mehbooba Mufti or Army ?” and “No army camp at Jablipora”.
