SRINAGAR, The death toll in Frisal encounter is eight including four militants, two soldiers and two civilians as district hospital in Islamabad received 21 injured of whom three were shifted to hospitals in Srinagar, officials and defence sources said.
Army sources said rifle man Sheraz Ahmad is stable after his foot angle turned near the encounter site. He survived with a minor injury in his foot during the encounter.
One of his officers told KNS that Ahmad is stable and all right and is in the hospital. Only two soldiers were killed in the encounter and two including a Major rank officer were injured. The news about a third army casualty was reported by a Delhi media group.
Police said they have been able to identify three of the four militants so far. They identified them as Mudasir Ahmad Tantray, a resident of Redwani, Farooq Ahmad Dar, a resident of Arow in Kulgam and Younis Qadir Lone of Haoura. They said one body is yet to be identified.
Meanwhile, hospital sources said that they have received six more injured people of whom two were shifted to Srinagar. The new six are Sajad Ahmad Dar (Haoura) carrying pellet injury in his skill, Shakir Ahmad (Rishipora) with pellets in his arms, Danish Mir (Frisal) pellet injuries in chest, Mushtaq Ibrahim (Hathigam) having bullet injury in right side of the chest, Idris Ahmad (Badroo) having pellet injury in his left hand, Aamir Altaf with bullet injury in right thigh. Of them Mushtaq Ibrahim died in the hospital and Danish was shifted to SMHS.
