G H Mir demands Divisional Status for more regions in J&K


Srinagar,Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist Ghulam Hassan Mir has welcomed the Governor administration’s announcement of the Divisional Status for Ladakh saying this was needed in the interests of the people of the remote region but he demanded the similar Divisional status for Chenab Valley, Pir Panjal region , Anantnag and Barmullah .

“ I am here with a question whether the Governor’s administration is politically and morally authorized to take such a decision which has a long-term ramifications in a sensitive state like Jammu and Kashmir already gripped with serialproblems,” He said in a statement here today

Mir , a former minister made these remarks in a statement on Friday soon after the Governor’s administration announced the Divisional status for Ladakh.

He said that the Rajouri-Poonch belt and Doda-Kishtwar and Ramban belt in Jammu, Anantnag – Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama belt and Baramullah, Bandipore and Kupwara belt too deserved this status and it should be granted to them.
