Geelani calls for protests after prayers today

Srinagar, April 28: While terming the continuous imprisonment of Handwara Girl, not arresting the forces personnel involved in the murder of five innocent youths in Handwara, unjust suspension of five government employees and not allowing the funeral prayers of the late pro-freedom leader Amanullah Khan as worst kind of state terrorism, Chairman Hurriyat (G) Syed Ali Geelani appealed for peaceful protest demonstration against this after the Friday congregational prayers on April 29.
He said that new chapter of the PDP-BJP government had unleashed a reign of terror and hardships in the state and the army and police has been given a free hand.
In a statement, he said that the government forces had snatched the 5 precious human lives in the Handwara massacre and it remains unattended till date.
The government announced an enquiry commission in an old traditional way but no serious efforts were made in this regard.
He said that immediately after the murder of 5 people, the authorities removed the forces bunker from the Handwara Chowk on which the pro-Indian politicians held celebrations as if the murdered ones had got their blood money and they also tried to take its credit.
Geelani said that it is the devious politics and these types of politicians have nothing to do with the life and death of the common masses. He also expressed his sorrow over the intellect of those people who vote or support these politicians.
