Sopore: The Sopore Town Remembers Late Ghulam Rasool Kar on his first death anniversary and paid special tribute prayers. A huge number of people of Sopore town and its adjoining areas participated in a day long programme which was held at Dak Banglow Sopore under the supervision of his son Irshad Rasool Kar.
Late Ghulam Rasool Kar, a member of the Constituent Assembly, Minister in State Government, Rajya Sabha Member and also a J&K Pradesh Congress Committee President. Kar was a courageous son of the soil who served the people and his party without any self-seeking ambitions. He never aspired for a position of power in the Government, nor did he advance any personal goals. He always maintained a close rapport with the party workers and remained accessible to them even when his health was in shambles. Late Ghulam Kar stood by his principles till his last breath and never compromised on his ideology and views. Junior Kar said. He was an honest and hardworking leader who epitomized simplicity in his personal life. On his first death anniversary, we salute Kar sahib legacy and pay glowing tributes to him”, said his Son Irshad Rasool Kar. Senior Kar Sahib was also a social activist, and a sole person who reached to the doors of needy and poor people for help. Mohammad a local; resident said. During past few years of his life, he kept his distance from politics; besides late Ghulam Rasool Kar was also running a Trust in the name of “Kamraz Foundation Trust” through which he always helped needy people in the Town.
On the occasion speakers threw light on the first death anniversary of Late Ghulam Rasool Kar. They said that the efforts which he made in the field of social activist captured a high place in the history of Sopore, expects same from his son to work continue for the welfare of Sopore Town.
Meanwhile “Kamraz Foundation Trust” announced 2 lakh for the betterment of Sopore Hospital.
