Gunshots heard as forces cordon off Drugmulla village in north Kashmir
Srinagar, May 21 (GNS): Government forces on Saturday cordoned off Drugmulla village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district and conducted searches as they suspect presence of some militants.
Official sources told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that the contingents of Special Operation Group (SOG), army 47 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) cordoned off Check Drugmulla village and started searches wee hours today.
A police official while confirming the cordon-and-search operation in the village told GNS that three to four suspected militants are believed to be hiding inside the residential house.
Locals told news agency GNS that the forces have sealed all the entry and exit points.
The area continues to be under forces’ siege and they fired some warning shots towards the suspected house also, however, there was no exchange of gunfire when this report was being filed. (GNS
