Gusty winds wreak havoc in parts of Kupwara

Srinagar, April 8: Heavy winds Friday late night wreak havoc while triggering panic among the residents in parts of north-Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching Kashmir Glory said that the windstorm set in around 11:45 pm causing power breakdown in the many parts of frontier district which included Bumhama, Muqam-i-Shahwali, Drugmulla, Bramri, Arampora, Bohipora, Kandi and other adjoining areas apparently due to damage in electric poles.

“The impact of storm was so strong that rooftops of many houses were blown away causing extensive damage to property,” a local said.

Meanwhile, no reports of any human loss were received, while the gusty winds continued to lash the areas when the last reports came in.
