Inspiring journey of a middle class girl from a remote village of budgam to the Bristol university England

Ishrat Shafi Khan was born in a middle class family of a remote village of budgam district. Her father Mohd shafi khan was a local farmer/labourer. Mohd shafi has 3 daughters and 1 son. Ishrat is the second child.it was always difficult for Mohd shafi to make both ends meet.so her elder sister Nasreen couldnt study much and started working as tailor in her native village to help her family.
After ishrat passed her matric exam with flying colours in 2009 and 12th in 2011.Her father and her elder sister Nasreen sent her for CET coaching to srinagar parrraypora. But unfortunately she could not make it it to the list for 2 years. Which made her to loose interest in studies. But her brave father & sister didn’t loose hope they encouraged her to the best and besides preparing for CET she had taken admission in GDC budgam for BSC.
There encouragement & support made her more focused towards studies. she studied very hard during graduation .Besides studies she was helping her sister in tailor work to support her family. She again passed her graduation with flying colors.This time she topped the GDC budgam in 2014.which motivated her to go for higher studies.
Whole village came to congratulate her on completing her graduation with ist rank.
After BSC she cracked KU PG entrance with 3rd rank. On seeing her brilliance during PG her professors motivated & Guided her to go for research.
In 2017 she Qualfied NET/JRF in bilogical sciences. Next month she was offered the post of junior research fellow from the top most Institute of india i;e TIFR Mumbai. She worked there for 2 years with the annual package of 10 lack ₹.
In March 2021 she passed IELTS Exam. And on June 5 she got an offer to work on a project in Bristol university UK with a package of 1 lakh dollars.
It was always a dream to get admission in top universities of UK;Ishrat added.
Ishrat is also thankful to various NGOS of valley who supported her during her tough times.
