Jammu, Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Monday informed the house that introduction of additional subjects is based on the demand and requires the creation of posts of Lecturer(s) in the corresponding subjects.
The spokesman said responding to a Calling Attention Notice by MLC, Naresh Kumar Gupta seeking Government’s attention towards the situation that has arisen due to delay in introducing more subjects as required which has created confusion among recent pass-out students waiting for the decision in order to get admission in higher secondary classes.

The Minister informed that any proposal for the creation of posts involves financial implications (recurring as well as non-recurring) and proposal needs the prior concurrence of the Finance Department and the approval of the State Cabinet.
He also said that during the current year, a proposal for introduction of subjects including Islamic/Buddhist/Vedic Studies, Tourism & Micro-Biology was referred to Finance Department for concurrence.
