Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir Bank Chairman and CEO Parvez Ahmed e-inaugurated two Business Units and three offsite ATMs on Monday amid a huge round of applause at Pulwama in presence of Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad Dar, Bank’s Executive President Vagesh Chander and a large gathering of valuable customers, senior citizens, representatives of various trade bodies and local residents.The spokesman in a statement said that the bank’s Presidents Abdul Rashid Sheigan, P K Tickoo, Zonal Head South Kashmir Tasaduq Hussain, Vice-Presidents besides other bank officials also attended the inaugural ceremony in the lush green lawn of Zonal office Kashmir south-I. The number of business units increased to 67 with a total of 87 ATM’s in the district that falls within the jurisdiction of Zonal Office.
The two business units e-inaugurated are at Samboora and Wahibug. And the four ATMs installed are at DC Office Pulwama, Achhen, Karimabad and Pehoo in the district, a spokesman said.
Speaking on the occasion Parvez Ahmed said, “J&K Bank not only envisages its expanding operations as means of financial empowerment of the people but foresees these as an investment in the economic prosperity of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Our JK-centric strategy focusses upon the need to energize the sectors of the Jammu and Kashmir economy with enormous growth potential.”
“Accordingly, we shall be extending the credit to those capable of taking lead in the transformation of such sectors besides the skilled youth who haven’t availed the loans so far. For that to happen effectively we expect the youth to equip themselves with the right education and required skill-set.
