JKYDF observes “Black Day” to mark Tribal Invasion

Srinagar, Oct 22: Contrary to the past when Separatists used to observe October 27, the day Indian Army landed in Kashmir, as Black Day, the trend has changed in Kashmir from the last five-years after Jammu and Kashmir Youth Development Forum (JKYDF) started a campaign on the day to aware the people of J&K about the reality that it was actually on October 22 when Pakistani raiders attacked the state.

JKYDF, a non-political forum represented by people from different walks of life, observes October 22 as Black Day in Jammu and Kashmir and like the past years organized a one day seminar on “Disturbance by Tribal Invasion in Kashmir” at Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC), here on Saturday.

Huge gathering from different walks of life attended the seminar and the speakers reminded the people that it was tribal invasion which created problems in Kashmir and the people of both sides of J&K are paying for it till date.

“This is the Blackest Day of J&K history and there is no legitimate reason to celebrate this day. Tribal Invasion not only divided the state but laid foundation of sufferings and miseries for the people of both sides. Though Pakistan sponsored separatists using to force people of Kashmir to observe Black Day the Oct 27 which coincides with the arrival of Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir which is an attempt to make people believe that their problem started after 27th October,” the speakers asserted.

A huge funding is being provided to pro-Pak elements in Kashmir by Pakistan agencies to cover up its misdeeds through such propaganda. The speakers highlighted how tribal militia unleashed reign of terror and unprovoked aggression against people of Jammu and Kashmir and violated state’s sovereignty. “Jammu and Kashmir is the crown of India and a mosaic of plural identities living in a spirit of peace and brotherhood. 22 October is a call to all peace loving citizens to rise and defeat the communal tactics of Pakistan,” said  Advocate  Waheed Wani .

Dr Mohammad Ashraf a retire bureaucrat and  social activist said that historian have distorted the facts about Pakistan invasion on Jammu and Kashmir in 1947. He said that human rights of lakhs of people were violated by Pakistan aggression, thousands were killed, thousands abducted and sold in brothels in Pakistan and North west Frontier province.
He said that Pakistan has been indulging in attempts to annex Jammu and Kashmir not for any love for the Muslims of the state but for its resources. He said that Mohammad Ali Jinnah sensed the intentions of Maharaja Hari Singh to join India when he asked Pakistan to remove Pakistani flags atop Post & Telegraph offices across J&K post 15 August, 1947.
Doctor  said that some historians have been trying to distort the fact that Maharaja was indecisive on joining Indian Union. “Neither Maharaja nor the people of Jammu and Kashmir wanted to join Pakistan. People of Kotli with meager presence of J&K State Army held the fort for 65 long days despite siege by the Pakistan Army and at the cost of hundreds of sacrifices of the young men and women.”
Prof. Ghulam Mohammad Batkaloo , retire principal degree collage Sopore   said there is need to take an initiative which is the need of the hour in these trying circumstances in the state. He said that by observing block day  on Oct 22, we will pay homage to lakhs of people killed, maimed and looted in 1947 by the invaders. “Innocent women who were robed, raped, kidnapped, and killed by the raiders in Pakistan occupied Kashmir,” he said.

He said that Islamic state of Pakistan is indulging in worst type of atrocities on Muslims and minorities alike in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan and Pakistan itself. He said that Govt of India should take aggressive posture in highlighting the role of Pakistan in Human rights violation not only in Jammu and

Kashmir but Gilgit, Baltistan and  Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. The Pakistan attempts to change the demography of undivided Jammu and Kashmir should be taken care of, Batkaloo asserted.

Advocate Sajad Hussain Lone , prominent social worker and working in J&K High court as lawyer  said tribal invasion of Jammu and Kashmir actively supported by the Pakistan Army brought horrifying stories of mass plunder, vandalism and rape. “Thousands of men women and children were mercilessly butchered in the name of jihad. Their sufferings of those dark days of 1947 have no parallel in the world Hhstory. The day is the blackest day because this invasion broke up the state and rendered thousands and lakhs of Hindus and Sikhs as refugees in their own state. “ This day reminds us of the challenges to the peace, harmony unity and integrity of the state. 22 Oct 1947 was also the beginning of asymmetric war against India. This asymmetric war is continuing till now and devising a befitting response to put an end to this war is a challenge before India and particularly the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He said  people in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir are denied all the rights of freedom and during these years we have only seen a sham democracy on that side and also the colonization by the Pakistani citizens.” Sajad added

Another speaker said, its now more than clear that all the invasions which Pakistan launched on Jammu and Kashmir were designed in such a way to create confusion and pretension of local uprisings. Barring 1971, all the aggressions of Pakistan from 1947 invasion erroneously referred as Tribal Raid were acts of war against India by the state of Pakistan. 1947 invasion had the same texture as the invasion in 1965.
Pakistani Army used tribal Muslims and many other Pakistani citizens willing to participate in so called  Jehad on Jammu and Kashmir giving them the allurement of loot and plunder in 1947, but the whole operation was conducted by the Pakistani Army.

Farooq Ganderbali removed social worker and patron JKYDF said that Pakistan has adopted terror as its state policy and it started with attack on Jammu and Kashmir on Oct 22, 1947. He said that terrorist regimes active in Jammu and Kashmir including Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, Alumer Mujahideen and Jaish-e-Mohammad,  are nothing but part of its regular armed forces who are getting regular pay and perks besides tenure in a particular area.
He said that Pakistan Army uses Armymen in civil clothes as the frontal hordes to hide the nature of regular invasion on Jammu and Kashmir State. He said that Oct 22 is the Blackest Day in the history of J&K State because on this day Pakistan’s attack on J&K rendered thousands and Lakhs of Hindus and Sikhs as refugees in their own state.

Abdul Rasheed Lone an author and columnist  said the boycott of  SAARC summit was itself an eye opener and clear message  for Pakistan from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal and Afghanistan that no one likes terrorism . He also congrats Indian Prime Minister for surgical strike on Pakistan and demanded to  eradicate all terror camps running by Pakistan in Pok.
