Kashmir militant who died in Poonch laid to rest at Tangmarh
Srinagar, May 17 (GNS): Body of a militant who died yesterday at Poonch while allegedly trying to ex-filtrate arrived at his native village in Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
According to GNS correspondent, the body of Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Sanaullah Bhat, resident of Batapora Tangmarg, arrived during wee hours from Poonch after which hundreds of people gathered at his home.
Bilal, who was a listed ‘A’ category militant, slipped to death yesterday in Chaparian forest area in Sabzian sector of Poonch when he was being chased away by troops and police. His two associates, Adil Ahmed Bhat son of Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Mursaleen Rashid son of Abdul Rashid Malla were arrested by forces.
Eyewitnesses said hundreds of people attended the funeral of the deceased militant and raised pro-freedom and pro-Islam slogans. The deceased was laid to rest in a local graveyard amid protests. The situation however remained peaceful in the area. (GNS)
