Kashmir’s 1400 matriculation students getting bicycle worth Rs 2 Cr

SRINAGAR: In Bandipora, the Education department gave all-terrain mountain bicycles to 30 meritorious students of class 10th from 2016 annual regular batch of the district, an official spokesman said.

The students who were provided the bicycles live at a distance of 2.5 or more kilometers from their existing educational institutions. Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G N Itoo, and District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Sajad Hussain, handed over the bicycles to the students on the occasion.

Ittoo said some 1400 all terrain mountain bicycles costing Rs 2 crore are being distributed among meritorious 10th standard students in all 12 districts of Kashmir division. He added while half of these have already been distributed among the students, the remaining half will be be distributed in coming months
