Srinagar, The tensions on the Kashmir borders notwithstanding, Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Head of the department of Urdu and Director Kishtwar Campus, University of Jammu has been nominated as member Board of Studies in Urdu by Faisalabad University of Pakistan.
The decision was conveyed to Prof Malik telephonically by Head of the department of Urdu Faisalabad University.
Prof Malik is a prolific writer of Urdu who has authored more than one dozens books. He is the general secretary of the All India Urdu University Teachers association. He is also associated with various Universities in India.
Prof Malik is the member of Board of Studies in Urdu of Punjab University Chandigarh, member of Board of Studies in Urdu Kashmir University, Srinagar and member of Board of Studies in Urdu Choudhary Charan Singh University, Merut.
Prof Malik is also member of the General Council of the highest body of Urdu in India National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL), Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India.
He is the editor-in-chief of Research Journal ‘TASASUL’ of which he has edited several special issues. His book titled “Urdu Language and Literature in Chenab Valley” is under publication and will be released very soon.
