Kud killings: Geelani demands impartial probe
Srinagar, June 14 (GNS): Terming as ‘mysterious’ the killing of a youth from Bemina and a woman in an incident at Kud area of Udhampur district in Jammu region yesterday, the Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday demanded an impartial probe into the incident by some independent agency.
While expressing solidarity with the families of the deceased, the spokesman of the amalgam in a statement issued to news agency GNS quoting Geelani as saying that the role of police and their track record in past times has always been doubtful in such incidents. So there will be no truth in the police version.
Therefore, an impartial agency should investigate this incident in order to bring the facts before people,” Geelani said.
He also urged local human rights bodies to get in touch with the family of the youth and bring their stand to fore.
“Indian forces suspect all Kashmiris and kill them as part of their national duty. Till today thousands of youth have been martyred under mysterious circumstances for promotions and medals”, Geelani said. (GNS)
