Srinagar, The mega championship in football ‘Let’s Play’ got kicked off at Synthetic Turf TRC ground here on Wednesday with the inauguration by Minister for Youth Services and Sports Molvi Imran Raza Ansari.
Ansari while highlighting the importance of such mega events for the development of better sports culture in J&K, said “Government is committed to take every such step which will boost the sports talent in the youngsters in order to provide them with the opportunities to showcase their talent at the national and international levels.”
Director General NADA Naveen Aggarwal assured that every possible help will be provided by the ministry of sports, GOI, for encouraging the talented sports players.
He hoped that a good number of girls and boys between the age of 6 to 19 years from all the zones of the state shall take part in the said competitions of football.
About 77,824 boy and girls from 199 zones of 22 Districts of the State are expected to participate in the mega championship. At zonal level 1592 girls and 3184 boys shall be participating in 4776 matches of the championship.
