Local Sikhs join Rizwan’s family to protest his ‘custodial killing’

Srinagar,Two days after the alleged custodial killing of Rizwan Asad Pandit of Awantipora in police custody, the family members and relatives of Rizwan took to streets and protested against the killing.

Reports said that scores of the locals along with the family and relatives of the deceased protested in Awantipora and sought the time-bound investigation in the case. The protesters were later joined by the members of local Sikh community demanding justice to the family.

Earlier, alleging that Rizwan was murdered in custody, his family has claimed that his body bore torture marks. “The injury marks were visible all over his body,” said his brother, Mubashir Asad to Indian Express. “He was brutally tortured,” he said.

Mubashir said Rizwan’s left eye had turned black, and the left side of his face was swollen. “There were severe injury marks on his thighs… cut marks and deep burn marks were visible on his thighs… There were stitches on his head,” he alleged
