Mirwaiz welcomes Pakistan’s dialogue remarks

Srinagar, May 14: Hurriyat (M) Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday urged the political leadership of India to give up “stubbornness and respond to Pakistan’s overtures.”
Mirwaiz said this while welcoming the Islamabad’s call for starting dialogue process with New Delhi on all outstanding issues between the two countries including the core issue of Kashmir.
While paying tributes to the martyrs, Mirwaiz termed initiation of dialogue between India and Pakistan a stark reality of the times for resolving outstanding issues between the two countries.
He stressed that it was the responsibility of the Indian and Pakistani leadership to consider the problems of 1.25 crore people of Jammu Kashmir were caught in.
He also called for putting in efforts to resolve them by taking the resistance leadership of Kashmir into confidence in order to find a dignified and a lasting solution to all outstanding issues through a result-oriented dialogue process.
Mirwaiz said that any nation’s voice for its legitimate rights can’t be suppressed by using tactics of aggression.
“…neither can the states run away from resolving issues because the pending issues between the nations, if not resolved, pose the greatest threat to the peace and prosperity of the people.”
