Srinagar, June 3: The Valley traders on Friday called off Saturday’s strike call after meeting Finance minister Haseeb A Drabu.
Kashmir Chamber and Commerce Industries (KCCI) president, Mushtaq Ahmad Wani said that they met with the finance minster today at civil secretariat where he assured them that all the demands will be redressed.
“Finance Minister told us that they are considering our demands and assured that the demands will be fulfilled soon,” Wani said.
He said that the presidents of different trade bodies including KCCI president, KEA, Muhammad Yasin Khan and President of Federation Chamber of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) Mohammad Ashraf Mir were present during the meeting with Drabu.
“We are hopeful that our demands will be redressed soon. We hope the government will look into the sufferings of traders and will revoke such steps which will directly or indirectly affect the common man of the state,” he said.
Pertinently, the strike was called in view of tax proposals in the budget 2016-17 presented by finanace minister, Dr Haseeb A Drabu in the assembly on May 30
