Omar slams BJP’s ‘double standards’ on IoA

Srinagar, Former chief minister and National Conference working president Omar Abdullah on Friday accused the BharatiyaJanata Party of adopting double standards vis-à-vis instrument of accession (IOA).

Reacting to the recent statement of union minister of state for Home Affairs HansrajAhir, who said that Pakistan administered Kashmir is part of India as per an agreement signed by Maharaja Hari Singh and that Pakistan has “occupied” it, Omar in a series of tweets wrote:  “Instrument of accession that made J&K a part of the Union kept ALL powers with the state barring Currency/Communication/Defence/Foreign Affairs.”“You can’t pick the parts of the instrument of accession that suit the politics of the BJP while conveniently abrogating responsibility for the rest,” Omar wrote on the twitter.
