Srinagar Peoples Conference of Sajad Gani Lone parted its ways from the People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD). The Peoples Conference head wrote a letter to PAGD President Dr. F Farooq Abdullah in which Lone has mentioned that the constituent parties of the PAGD filed the proxy candidates against officially mandated candidates of the alliance.
He added that he convened the meeting of the party leaders in which it was discussed that a “Sincere Alliance should be greater than of its parts” but Lone stressed that “Whole was even equal to the value of its parts.
Sajad also mentions that DDC elections were not mere elections but an opportunity to send unanimous political message and he explains in the letter that the majority of votes polled against PAGD were casted in favour of proxy candidates filed by its own constituent parties.
He added that people blinded by political greed fielded candidates against each other. “If we can’t trust PAGD leadership on something as basic as DDC seat, how can we trust them for larger issues” he questioned.
While claiming that these issues lead to the breach of trust, he clarified that although he is parting ways from PAGD but he will continuously adhere to the objectives of PAGD.
“We have issued clear cut instructions to all its party leaders not to issue any statement against the PAGD or its leaders” the leader ends with thanking to all members of PAGD
