PDP Rumble: Bukhari gives in, unrelenting Ansari leaves for pilgrimage

Srinagar, In a dramatic twist to the resignation of two PDP Ministers from the State Cabinet, one of the aggrieved leaders, Basharat Bukhari, resumed the office on Monday. However there was no breakthrough in the case of Imran Ansari, who wanted elevation in his portfolio.

An official told Gk that Bukhari went to his Secretariat office in Jammu today. “He was there for 10 to 20 minutes,” an official said, adding the minister also met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti at her office in the Civil Secretariat.

“I met with the Chief Minister today and discussed all the issues which I had raised in the resignation letter and the communication which I had sent to the Chief Minister last month and many more issues related to party affairs and functioning of the Governmental,” a local news agency quoted Bukhari as saying.

In a flip-flop, Bukhari however refuted that he had tendered resignation over the issue of portfolio, saying, “Certain developments had taken place over period of time that prompted me to resign.”

Bukhari had put in his papers on Friday soon after the reshuffle in the portfolios of some PDP ministers. In the reshuffle, he was divested of the charge of Department of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation and assigned charge of “insignificant” Horticulture department.
