Petrol bombs hurled at exam centre in Ganderbal


Ganderbal, Unidentified persons hurled two petrol bombs at a government school where students of 12th standard were writing their examination in Manigam area of Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

Reports said that both the bombs hit the perimeter wall of Government Higher Secondary school Manigam.

 SHO Lar Mohd Junaid SHO said that the bombs, thrown from a distance, didn’t cquse any damage.

“There were sufficient security arrangements in place as per routine around the examination centre. Besides, army personnel too were guarding a Sadhbhavna camp organised by the local army camp which was going on in the premises of the school at the time of the attack,” he said.

Sources said that two local youth, identified as Danish Farooq and Omar War, were detained by the police for questioning after the incident.
