PM Narendra Modi joins world leaders who took COVID vaccine shot to boost people’s confidence


NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday joined the elite club of global leaders who had publicly received the Covid-19 vaccine and urged people to come out for vaccination in order to fight the deadly pandemic.

The PM’s move is likely to boost people’s confidence and overcome their hesitation in coming out for vaccination. It may be recalled that US President Joe Biden was vaccinated when he was the President-elect. Similarly, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Indonesia’s Joko Widodo had also received the COVID vaccine shot in the full public view. Among others who were administered the COVID vaccine in the open are – Pope Francis, Saudi King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip of the United Kingdom. Mongolian PM and Maldives President are among the other world leaders who have been vaccinated earlier using the India-made anti-COVID vaccines.
