Cops open fire as suspected persons on motorcycle give slip to naka party

Srinagar, June 5: Police this late night opened fire after two suspected persons on a motorcycle gave slip to them at Ram Munshi Bagh area of City here.

Official sources told Kashmir Glory that the two suspected persons on motorcycle were asked to stop by the police naka party in the highly fortified security zone at Ram Munshi Bagh.

“The motor-cycle borne persons, however, slipped the naka party. As the suspected persons believed to be militants slipped the police naka party, the cops fired few shots in air to nab these suspected persons on motor-cycle,” they said.

Soon after the firing incident, large contingents of the police, SOG and CRPF have reached the spot and assessed the situation.

However, the SHO Ram Munshi Bagh categorically denied any such incident and said that the motorcyclists were doing stunt and one of them misbehaved with police. “But no firing took place,” he added.
