Pulwama Encounter : Three militants killed, curfew imposed in town


Pulwama, Three militants have been killed in an encounter that started during Pre dawn hours at Dalipora area Pulwama town on Thursday

An official said told KNO that a joint team of forces including army’s 55 RR and SOG Pulwama cordoned off Dalipora after having credible input about presence of some militants in the area.

As the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.

A senior Police official confirmed that three militants have been killed in exchange of fire between militants and government forces.

He said three dead bodies have been retrieved whose identification is being ascertained.

A civillian namely younis Ahmed Dar resident of Dalipora and three army men was also injured during exchange of fire

One among the three injured army men has succumbed, official sources said.

Meanwhile to avoid law and order problem authorities have imposed curfew in main town Pulwama and internet services have also been snapped as a precautionary measure.

Further as per locals despite curfew, clashes amid tear smoke and sound shelling are going on around encounter site. (KNO)
