Pulwama gunfight ends; three militants and a civilian killed


Srinagar, Three militants were killed in an ongoing gunfight with the Security forces in village Chatpora Pulwama. A civilian was killed in clashes near the gunfight site.
Director General of Police (DGP) SP Vaid said all three militants trapped in Pulwam gunfight have been killed. “All three militants killed, Good job boys,” he said on Twitter.
Earlier, a top police official confirmed the death of two militants in the ongoing firefight raging since today afternoon.
He said two bodies are lying at the site of the gunfight while a third militant is still firing from the debris of the house which was blasted by the forces.
The identity of the slain militants was yet to be ascertained, said the official.
A civilian, identified as Faizan Ahmad Khan, son of Dr. Abdul Gani Khan, resident of Khrew Pampore suffered a bullet injury in his abdomen after forces used live ammunition and pellets to disperse protesters who had gathered near the site of the gunfight.
