Pacers Muhammad Mudasir and Ram Dayal shined for J&K, sharing seven wickets between them as they reduced hosts Haryana to 119 for the loss of seven wickets on the opening day of the Ranji trophy match at Chaudhry Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium, Lahli , Haryana on Friday.
J&K skipper Parvez Rasool won the toss and chose to bowl first. The decision proved right as pacer Mudasir rattled Haryana top order early. He was later joined by another pacer Ram Dayal. They reduced Haryana to 119 for the loss of seven wickets in 45 overs. The match earlier started late due to bad light only 45 overs were bowled on the first day of the play.
Haryana got off to a worse possible start as Mudasir ran through their top order. They were reduced to 23 for 3. After Mudasir, Ram Dayal joined the act by getting fourth wicket for J&K. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals and Haryana were in deep trouble with score of 88/7.
At that point, AR Mishra joined HV Patel and the duo steadied the ship for Haryana. They took the score to 119 for the loss of seven wickets. When bad light interrupted play, Mishra was batting on 11 and Patel on 15 and the duo had formed 31 partnership between them. HR Rana with 35 was highest scorer for Haryana.
