Ranji Trophy: J&K v/s Kerala;Parvez takes 6-wkts on day 1


Hosts Kerala were bundled out for 219 runs in first inning as J&K skipper ParvezRasool took six wickets on the first day of the four-day Ranji trophy match which started on Wednesday at St Xavier’s KCA Cricket Ground, Trivandrum.

After bundling out Kerala for the score of 219 runs in first, J&K ended days play on 16 without any loss of wicket. J&K trail by 203 runs with all wickets in hand.Earlier Kerala won the toss and opted to bat first. Despite starting cautiously, pacer Mohammad Mudhasir was able to break the resistance of Kerala openers. He bagged two quick wickets for the J&K to reduce hosts to 19 for two. Sensing opportunity for bagging few more wickets, J&K skipper introduced spinners. The ploy worked as Amir Aziz gave J&K third wicket with Kerala score of 44 runs. Sanju Samson who scored brilliant 112 runs for Kerala then tried to resurrect inning and tried to form partnership with Sachin Baby. Only after adding 47 runs between, ParvezRasool joined the act and grabbed wicket of Baby.
