Sabzar killing: Lt Gen Anbu compliments soldiers


Srinagar, The Northern Army Commander Lt Gen D Anbu on Tuesday complimented his soldiers for “conducting a successful operation” in which a top militant commander Sabzar Ahmed Bhat was killed.

In a statement here, Army’s Srinagar-based spokesman said: “Lt Gen D Anbu today visited the Army formations and units in south Kashmir where he was briefed by the field commanders on the prevailing security situation and the measures instituted to ensure peace and calm.”

Which interacting with the soldiers, the Army Commander complimented them for “their alertness, initiative and synergy with other security forces which has resulted in conduct of successful operations including the recent counter militancy operation in which a top militant commander was killed.”

He exhorted them to continue “with the same dedication as the entire nation looks up to them.”

Gen Anbu along with the Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen JS Sandhu, the spokesman said, also took stock  of the security and administrative arrangements for the Amarnath Yatra which is scheduled to commence from June 29 and stressed upon the need for close coordination with civil administration to ensure a smooth and efficient conduct of the pilgrimage.
