For the assistance of cancer patients, the department of Surgical Oncology, Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) is holding a cancer camp at District Hospital Baramulla on October 17 (Monday).
In a statement to KNS, a spokesman of the Surgical Oncology department of SKIMS said that in collaboration with Directorate of Health, Kashmir they have taken up a mission to bring succour to these people at their doorsteps. In this regard a number of camps have been conducted since 2014, wherein many patients have been successfully operated at various District Hospitals, he said.
This effort has been lauded by one and all and has been appreciated by the patients also. It will be pertinent to mention here that this whole programme is a part of “Mobile SKIMS” initiative was envisioned by Head of Department Surgical Oncology Dr Altaf Haji in 2014 and implemented in collaboration with Directorate of Health Services.
