Some political non entities trying to turn NIT into a battle ground: Hakim Yasin

SRINAGAR, APRIL 10: Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) president and MLA Khansahib Hakim Mohammad Yasin today said that some non entities in politics were trying to turn NIT Srinagar into a political battle ground which is unfortunate.
In a press statement issued from here, he said the minor incident at National Institute of Technology (NIT) is being politicized by some vested interests. “Why an educational institution being turned into a political battleground is a big concern and both State and Central governments should take note of it?”
Blaming some vested interest leaders from Delhi to Jammu were trying to give communal color to NIT incident he said, “Some non-entities are trying to flare up the minor issues to come into limelight which is unfortunate. Now they are trying to parachute their stooges from New Delhi to Srinagar which is dangerous.”
“Kashmir is known for its communal harmony and Kashmiris have never targeted their guests nor will in future do so. By flaring up NIT situation, these vested interests are trying to harm the communal harmony which they would never succeed,” he asserted.
The MLA Khansahib said the students of the NIT should respect the communal harmony and pluralistic ethos of the State and ensure that no action on their part undermines this ages old tradition.
The PDF chief urged State and Central governments to take a strong note of it and act against such elements who are trying to communalize and politicize the minor issue. “NIT is a small issue but the safety and security of Kashmiris students studying outside state is a cause of concern. They are being continuously harassed and attacked since last few days. State and Central governments should without any delay ensure safety of Kashmiri students,” Hakim Yasin demanded.
