Srinagar, May 24: Hours after none of the twin capital cities of J&K figured in the list of 13 more cities to be developed as ‘smart cities’, the State Government said that Jammu and Srinagar would soon be taken up under the project.
With the selection of 13 more cities, 25 states and union territories will now be covered under the Smart City Mission. An official spokesperson here this evening said that J&K’s twin capital cities, Jammu and Srinagar, would soon be taken up under the Smart City project.
“This was announced by the Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu while interacting with J&K’s Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh,” he said.
