Stories are being cooked up by pro-India politicians to protect killers; says Malik

Srinagar, April 18: Chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik, on Monday said “stories are being cooked up by pro-India politicians to protect killers” of the north Kashmir civilians.
In a statement issued here, Malik said that immediately after the civilian killings in Handwara and Kupwara, “pro-India politicians started cooking up stories to protect the killers and murderers and initiated a debate on whether the protest was justified or not”.
“This was and is being done to divert attention from the cold-blooded murder of five innocents and legalize the crimes of Indian occupational forces. If so-called rulers believe that their forces aren’t involved, then what prompts them to announce the so-called probes and investigations?” Malik questioned. He said all this was being done to “cover up the crimes of Indian forces”.
“This is another proof that these pro-India politicians are the strategic assets of Indian army, forces, and its agencies,” he said.
Condemning the restrictions and arrest spree in Handwara and Kupwara areas, JKLF chief said, “On one hand, our people are killed and on the other side, we are put under curfew and every little space is choked in the name of so-called democracy.”
