Srinagar, May 02: Nine girl students were hospitalized on Monday evening after consuming contaminated water at an Islamic seminary in Lolab in frontier north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

Reports reaching Kashmir Glory said that the girls from Dar-ul-Uloom Raziat-ul-Toiba, a seminary in Sogam, Lolab developed complications after taking the contaminated water being supplied by Public Health Engineering (PHE) department.

Haneefa Begum, an employee from the seminary confirmed the incident said that the girls developed some minor infections, adding that they have been admitted to hospital. “We hope they all recover very soon,” Haneefa added.

Pertinently, over eighty girl students pursuing different Islamic courses are enrolled in the seminary.
