Veeri launches plantation drive in memory of Mufti Syeed


JAMMU, APRIL 10: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Rehman Veeri, today launched a plantation drive at Green Belt Park, Channi Himmat in Jammu to pay homage to Former Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Chairman Legislative Council, Haji Inayat Ali, Minister of State for Housing & Urban Development, Social Welfare, Health & Medical Education Asiea Naqash, Legislators, Ajaz Ahmad Mir, M. Abass Wani, Firdous Ahmad Tak, Senior leaders of PDP including Ved Mahajan, Amreek Singh Reen, Nitish Mahajan, Tahir Syeed and hundreds of people were present on the occasion.
The plantation drive was organised in memory of former Chief Minister, Late Mufti Muhammad Sayeed to pay tributes to him.
Paying rich tributes to Mufti Sayeed, Veeri termed him as a leader of great repute who had a vision of developing Jammu and Kashmir as a prosperous and progressed state. “Mufti Sayeed took all the regions of the state together towards the path of development and strived hard for steering the state towards new highs of peace and progress”, he added saying that real tribute to him is to carry forward his mission.
Complimenting the organisers for conducting the function, the Minister stressed the need for extending plantation drive at constituency levels so that the dream of late leader regarding green J&K is realized.
Recalling the contribution of late leader, Haji Inayat Ali and Asiea Naqash threw light on the life of Mufti Sayeed and pledged to promote plantation drive in their respective constituencies.
Ajaz Ahmad Mir and other leaders also spoke on the vision of the late leader.
