Srinagar, Chairman, Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik was released today from central jail Srinagar on bail.
“Malik was presented before 1st Additional District and Session Judge who after hearing the matter, ordered his release on bail. Malik was taken back to Srinagar central jail from where he was released this evening,” a spokesman of the Front, in a statement today, said.
“Malik had been arrested by police on March 18, 2017, and sent to central jail on a 12-day judicial remand,” he said.
“On March 29, he was again presented before 2nd additional session’s judge who again remanded him to judicial custody till April 11.
“On April 11, he was again presented before the court and remanded till April 15, 2017,” he said.
Meanwhile, another JKLF senior member Muhammad Irfan Khan who had been languishing in Central Jail Srinagar for last 30 days was sent on a further 8-day judicial remand by the court.
“He (Khan) was taken back to central jail Srinagar. JKLF strongly condemns his prolonged incarceration,” the statement said.
